Account Manager.

The Account Manager is accountable for establishing and maintaining client relationships with the goal to provide the best overall experience. The Account Manager manages a list of assigned clients and is responsible for the holistic approach to managing the services and activities with the client; conducts Technical Strategy Meetings (TSM) mapping technology to business goals. The Account Manager coordinates efforts and works as a team player ensuring our clients are cared for and high-quality service is delivered. Additionally, the Account Manager will be responsible for sales to existing clients, while working as a team player to meet and exceed established goals.

Responsibilities.

  • Act as the client point of contact and key resource to respond effectively to all client requests
  • Schedule regular, face-to-face meetings with assigned clients to effectively identify their business goals and to map those goals to new or existing technology and to promote up-sell activity and ensure client retention
  • Meet and/or exceed established individual sales goals
  • Look for opportunities for additional hardware/software sales, project work, and new managed services
  • Create and develop strategic business proposals and pricing to present to clients
  • Develop and manage assigned client database, keeping accurate record and notes of contact information and contact activity
  • Maintain accurate CRM data with regard to assigned clients, opportunities and pipeline
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of The Walker Group solutions
  • Work with other team members (Pre-Sales, Primary Engineer, Services) to meet and exceed client expectations
  • Complete periodic training courses as required by our vendors as well as for internal professional development

Qualifications.

  • 5 years+ successful business-to-business sales experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to converse with clients at all levels, including the executive level
  • Ability to sell solutions effectively
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong relationship building skills required to achieve sales goals
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment to develop new client business while providing excellent customer service
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Basic understanding of technology systems and Internet applications is preferred
  • Experience in Managed Services and/or IT is preferred
